What do we all do . . . .?

I am a Senior NHS Administrator working in a mental health unit. Need to find a new job though as not happy at the moment.

Worked from home (medical secretarial work) for 5 years whilst the kids were young and actual miss the freedom this afforded me, but not much work around for home typing.

I also have set up and run an adoption website - providing cards and gifts for adopters and foster carers. Love it, and just wish it was enough to enable me to give up my NHS career xxx

What an interesting bunch of people ! A community to be proud of it seems to me.

I'm a short break foster carer for children with disabilities but specialise in autism and complex health needs. I support 6 families over the month and absolutely love my job. Prior to having my son 22 years ago when i started fostering i was a school matron and loved that job to. x

I was an IT manager for a few years, got made redundant and fancied a change so ended up doing support work for teenagers with autism. The money wasn't enough to pay the bills so as much as I loved it I had to leave and ended up at a college doing advice and guidance for students with learning difficulties. The job wasn't what it was advertised to be so i again left about 18 months later and am I now work at a small secure unit for kids aged 10-17 which is basically a small young offenders institute for vulnerable kids who wouldn't be able to cope in the larger units.

The plan post-op is to get fit and apply to the local police force.

Oh I have had a variety of jobs.

In my early 20's I was a Roly Poly Kissogram by night  Miss whiplash, naughty nurse etc... It was quite popular in the late 80's and I LOVED it.
I was a Children's Nanny by day. Not a bad difference!

Then I worked for several years in the private care sector, supporting a variety of clients, from the young to the elderly, Mainly working with adults with learning difficulties and challenging behaviour.

For the last few years, I have mainly worked in Administration or Customer Services.

Haven't worked since March 2011 (just before my op), and now I am itching to get back into full time work. But boy,,, it is tough out there at the moment with job seeking. The competition is very stiff and lots of over qualified people applying for minimum wage vacancies.

If I could do my ideal job, I think I would like to do Administration/Office work for the Police or Health Services.

What a great thread, Im a nosey moo so have loved reading what you all do for a living.

I am a Money adviser for a charity. I help people who are in financial difficulty to manage their financial affairs, ranging from benefit advice, housing advice, negotiating with creditors and insolvency advice. I advise on both business and personal debt.

In my spare time, when I'm not moderating here, I'm a consultant for Vie at home - party plan (like Ann summers) but selling skin care, cosmetics etc instead of naughty knickers!

forgot to add, that of all the jobs Ive seen listed here, Its Mazza's job that I want! I'd love to be a fraud investigator.
