How are you doing Ali?

How are you doing Ali?

Hey I'm doing well, I've lost 2 stone 8.2lbs since surgery 9weeks ago so pretty happy with that. Im also into size 14 clothes now but just want my middle tyre to disappear. That's me being a little impatient haha. Struggling to get my protein in though so I've ordered some 'Quest' protein bars in cookie dough which the reviews were excellent for. Trying to find tasty but 'safe for us' meal ideas and walking round the supermarket getting frustrated wondering what to buy and not getting bored of the same things all the time. I'm having mood swings at times and seeing some hair loss.

Fatigue has improved a bit and not as tired during the day but shattered at night.

I've been following you and Lisa's threads and seeing how everyone is doing. Always here daily and realising you continue to learn all the way through our journeys.

Hope your well,
Take care lovely,
Xx

Grand news :)

I too am bored of the same food. Having been a carb eater previously this protein first malarkey is annoying.

I personally wanna avoid buying specialist stuff as it is expensive and tastes fake. Maybe if I write to Cadbury they will make a chocolate bar that's high in protein ;)

Good luck and keep us updated x

Thought I'd do a little update considering its 6months since sleeve surgery :)

Surgery date: 26th June 2015

Starting weight: 14stone 7.4lbs
Today's weight: 9stone 1.8lbs
This weeks loss: 3.6lbs
Total loss: 5stone 5.6lbs (-75.6lbs)
Loss to goal: only 8.8lbs!

I've had no stalls or gains at all

And and and my BMI is now 25.0! Which registers as NORMAL not overweight! I'm in the healthy BMI range now. So happy. Great Christmas present. I started off as 41 BMI (obese class 2). Only 8.8lbs left to lose to my target which started at over 6stone to lose. :) my weight loss isn't stalling yet and I don't intend to maintain until it stops its self or if I get too low in weight after all I'm only 5 foot on the dot.

My portion size hasn't really changed and I'm used to it now. Small hand full of chicken, a few carrots and a floret of cauliflower/broccoli is usually my lunch at work. I've found that if I add a little treat a week eg a mazipan fruit or a hot chocolate then it keeps my weight loss going as I don't eat any bread, pasta or rice (my choice and also carbs make me feel very uncomfortable leading to me being sick)

I did have extreme mood swings for a couple of months but these have settled now. Maybe because my body is now used to the lower nutrition than before and hormones have settled. I've gone from a size 16 to a size 10 (size 8 in some things). Don't think I've ever been a size 10 hah.

I have a little bit of excess skin which I will see how it goes long term and possibly consider further surgery.

Merry Christmas everyone, hope you all have a lovely day. Best wishes and a continued successful weight loss for you all xx

Ahh thank you :) it's amazing how quickly your body changes after this surgery. Best thing I've ever ever done for myself. Confidence is improving too but I think everyone has a bit of body dysmophia. For a long time I couldn't see a difference regardless of what people said. Mind readjusting. Been keeping up with your diary and your doing amazingly well too- congrats. The thought of what position we'd be in without the surgery hey (well I know I would have probably be a stone heavier) take care Hun xx
