I have researched on them just don't no which will be best for me :( x

You can get pregnant once you are a year post op with the bypass.

The ops tend to go on your eating habits, weight you have to lose etc.

What is your weight and height? And do you eat too much at meals? Pick all day? Or both?

There are other factors, but these are good starting points :)

And welcome to the forum :)

Agree with Fluff's points.
I was positive that I wanted a band when I started out (NHSfunded). On first appointment my surgeon explained all the options & he recommended a sleeve or bypass for me personally based on my weight, eating habits etc.
I didn't want that & maintained I wanted a band. Several months & lots of research by me, I finally chose to have a sleeve (25/2/2012). Main reason for my change of heart was the high level of aftercare with fills etc. it was not a permanent solution for me personally e.g. You can have it removed etc etc. I needed to loose weight but more importantly keep it off long term. I am very happy with my decision so far but you need to look very much at your personal circumstances.

What were you normal eatings habits? Like none eating healthy.

When choosing we need to think of the habits that helped us put the weight on. As when we hit bad times, the old habits are the ones that come back.

So before eating healthy, we're your meals too big?

Yes I basically didn no when to stop I did a lot of comfort eating none was healthy at all I'd veg out with my gfs kids and eat crisp and stuff but if I were hungry after tea I'd have a sandwich!i was told to talk to different ppl that have had gastric surgery and way it up that way is this true?x

I also think you should have a consultation with a surgeon/bariatric team for them to assess you. They will give a professional opinion. I know waiting times on NHS are very long but you could go to a reputable private consultant. I've seen specialists in London for around £200. I've see websites that will give you free initial consultation & you can always say you don't want to go ahead once you have the facts you need.

If anyone else has any more information for me would be much appreciated :) thanks again x
Think I would like to have the wrap but still abit un sure as did really want the bypass as that sounded for me x

That's why it's best you talk to a bariatric team. You will get time to choose when you first visit the hospital you are being referred to. Just research between now and then x

With bariatrics its how long is a piece of string. It's a postcode lottery and then individual circumstances influence everything too.

People can have kids after a bypass as I said earlier. They are simply advised to wait until they are a year post op :)

And thanks :D
