Just had dumping for the first time.....

Pookiedoodle

Totally in love with Mika
And it was horrid!!!!!!

I'm 4 months post op, and after trying a few tiny sugary things, really thought I just didn't get dumping syndrome.

So, this afternoon, I had 5 mini eggs as a treat - I really wish I hadn't.

Tummy cramps, diarroeah, feeling faint, awwwww, it was so awful.

I'll definitely think twice before eating mini eggs again.

Dumping aint great but at least it keeps you on the straight and narrow, hope your feeling better now x

Oh poor you! it is an awful feeling :(

Hope you feel better now?

Its a horrible feeling isnt it, I know how you feel, I have only dumped once ('early dumping' where it happens quickly and quite badly) and it was quick, hard hitting and compared to some, very mild, but I dont EVER want that to happen to me again as I felt so wretched, I hated the pounding heart and hot and cold sweats, I didnt like the spitting up into a bowl whilst trying not to vomit either!!!...sure as hell keeps me off of the sugary stuff!!!
Im sorry in one way that you experienced it but Im also glad that it happened because now you know that it does and that fear will keep you being good, that fear is an important tool.
Take care of yourself xx

This is one thing I am dreading after my op as I have a sweet tooth for puddings, etc. Saying that, that is probably why I am in this state! ps; Try four eggs next time! Lol _ Regards, Paul x

Cant say Im looking forward to dumping, but I think it would help me stay on track. Im not to be trusted in the same continent as chocolate and sweeties :D

Hope you are feeling better
Som eone else on here said there is a morel here
"Dont eat things you are not allowed and you will go unpunished"
Lesson learned?

My advice to folks...dont intentionally test the theory, you will regret it if you are able to eat the bad things and then you cant rewind time to never know if you dump or not.
So seriously, dont test it, just remind yourself of how much you have gone through to get this far and then let thay give you the strength to stay good.
I was the worlds worst food cheat, I truly was, but that surgery was a big thing and I will never risk my current strength by testing myself. I have dumped but it was because of hidden sugars.
So again guys, dont test it, keep the fear and the strength, you have all gone through way too much to sabotage yourself.
I hope that I havent offended anyone with that advice, it is just something that I needed to say xx

I have found that over the 11 and a bit months since my bypass, my chocolate addiction has gone completely - at the beginning, I wouldnt touch it cause I didnt want to dump and now I cant be bothered with it - your head does change if you let it. If anyone had said to me that I wouldnt be bothered by not eating chocolate again, I would have said they were bonkers but having eaten it for all my 48 years aside of the last one, I truly dont miss it - maybe its self hypnosis - who knows but looking in the mirror, I would rather look like this than eat chocolate (given the choice)!

Pookie doodle - snap! I'm 5mths post op and dumped for the first time last night after eating a large orange and a kiwi fruit. I think the combination of the two tipped the sugar scale over the edge and boy oh boy did I suffer for it. I thought i was a non dumper, I was proved wrong in a big way!

Glad you're feeling better now.

Thanks everyone for your lovely replies, I'm feeling fab now thankyou.

I'm so relieved I dumped, cos now I know that chocolate isn't allowed, I don't have the choice.

This post really hit a heartstring - I have not been bothered by chocolate since surgery but something about Easter sent me loopy. I tried some Easter Egg and boy did I regret it - I have never felt so ill in my whole life - as well as my usual dumping symtoms (from hidden sugars especially in pineapple) sweats, palpatations, breathlessness - I also had stomach cramps - it was horrendous. My whole stomach was swollen and in agony. I always try and take the positives from situations and I am positive that I will not EVER try chocolate again ;0)
