Achievement - put on 2lb!!

Uber geek
Gotta keep a lighthearted mind - I have put on 2lb since Thurs - 4 weeks post op!!!! I am not a fastidious food watcher like a lot of people- I don't check what protein / sugar level etc I consume a day. If I feel empty, I try and eat and stick to stuff I think is healthy. I have been on semi-solids since Sat (Dietitian said it was ok couple of days early as I have so much on and tummy is coping). I am in the throws of moving, have just come back up north having driven hundreds of miles this weekend back home down south to see family / friends etc - my body is very aware and lets me know if it does not have enough fuel. But no, I am not regular nor do I count calories etc - food does not rule my life and I am too busy to think about it. I am however at *that time of month* so wondered if that has anything to do with it.

I find I can consume very little in the day - maybe half a cupasoup or couple of mouthfulls of semi-solids but can get down about 200g at tea time. Guess that's just the way my body clock works. I haven't 'cheated', gave up the skinny cow ice-creams and have had quorn spag bol for the past coupe of nights for my tea with a bit of grated cheese. Again - dietitian sad that's fine.

Seriously - logic defies weight loss sometimes. Luckily I am not devastated by this gain, just sratch my head, shrug my shoulders and wait to see what the scales say next week.

So come on bypassers - did you gain at all? This soon after the op?

I always put on temporary fluid weight at TOTM, I wouldn't worry. (I'm a bander just wanted to help)
I only lost a pound this week but got the zip done up on a pair of jeans that would not meet no how last week!
Why don't you concentrate on inch loss as thats less likely to fluctuate?
Wishing you well x

Hi
I haven't put any weight on yet, but have no idea when my period may attack! I wouldn't worry about it and see how the scales are in a few days.
Lx

Yes the first week post op I put 3 kgs on but lost it and a lot more the following week.

Could it be water retention, def if its Totm there is a good chance thats the reason, are u drinking enough or maybe u need to up your protein levels, soz am just pre op so just going on by the things i have read on here.
Am sure others will be along soon to offer u more advice xxxx

Well I gained when I started on semi solids and always either stop losing or gain a couple of pound at TOTM so I wouldnt worry about it.
What you have to remember is that we are ALL DIFFERENT and thats very important! We are all given the operation and will all lose differently. Some lose loads at first while others are more steady and then some stay the same for weeks while others seem to lose loads so just think of this as YOUR journey and you will get there in the end whether your the hare or the tortoise :) x
