anemia - 1 year on from bypass

Hi All

Just had my bloods back from one year post op and I am anemic. Having further bloods I take forceval and sublingual B12 have done since the op.

Doc put me on liquid iron twice a day god its vile - any other ideas ???

hi liz i had the iron liquid and it made me gag! ask if you can change as it is in tablet form thats what i take now xxx

Thanks Lisa, I never know what tablets we can take as I am under the impression we cant break down tablets which is why forceval is recommended as a vitamin - have tried the dieticians from surgical team but I give up call backs are hopeless

My surgeon, Mr Ammori, ok'ed me taking tablets and I have never had any problems.

If you had the bypass you should be fine with tablets after 3 months. I'm sure they'll be better. Hope it all kicks in soon though and you start to feel better x
