I think it's natural to be a bit apprehensive before surgery, your mind can come up with all sorts of things!
I had a little bit of a rough time for 48 hours after surgery and wondered why on earth I'd done it, but I already feel healthier than I have in a long time - and I only had my op on the 9th Jan. I'm really looking forward to getting to know the new me - your daughter is in for a real treat with a fit and happy mummy to share the most important years of her development.
I know it isn't very kind - but your ex having to watch you blossom and transform will be excellent motivation too (not that he actually matters!)
