Anybody else noticed...

So I haven't even tried any chocolate, or other sweets, since my pre-op. I am now getting to the point where I don't miss it any more. I can usually do without chocolate, can even sit with someone who has it and don't suffer from food envy. Anybody else noticed that? I saw a post the other day on twitter that said, It takes 21 days to build a habit, and if you can live without something for 21 days, you then no longer needed. I find that to be quite true actually.

I'm hoping to feel that way about cheese ... chocolate I enjoy but can take it or leave it, but cheese is my downfall! glad it is working for you! xxx

I'm very similar. I was a sugar-junkie and I really thought I'd miss it, but I don't. I think that since starting the pre-op milk and yogurt everything I've eaten has been so sweet, I'm sick of it now!

Witch woman - post op, should you not conquer the cheese thing, you will find yourself spending a great deal of time in the smallest room. ;-)

Tho small amounts of grated cheese were prescribed by my specialist nurse going into week 3 to add to the mashed spuds and soup combo. Am allergic to dairy in significant quantities so not a great lover of cheese ... Now, chocolate on the other hand ...

TBH, I find lots of flavours are a bit too intense now to pleasant - sweetners, salt, chilli ...

I hate chocolate the smell makes me gag, I am a real savoury person it will be interesting to see what I miss :)

yeah, but chocolate and mash / soup is a bit weird!

Yes, I think a little bit of grated cheese, or a low-fat cheese on the whole, is actually a good source of protein, but of course only in moderation.

Cheese is really good protein and most have little to no problems - I can eat plenty of cheese. If its making you ill make sure it's dumping and not a lactose intolerance.

I thought I could only eat light cheese, but actually managed to have some normal crumbled feta on a salad in a restaurant and I was fine.

I actually would rather have full fat for flavour. But sometimes I'm good.

I'm usually good, or careful, but you don't really have the choice in a restaurant. Anyway it tasted so good to have the full fat version for once... So it was a nice treat.
