hi, was ill last night. had a tiny petits filous for babies 6mth plus. never checked  had sugar in it :sigh: will read EVERYTHING now. why is sugar in baby foods !!!

It's a horrendous situation. You really have to check everything which I still do even over a year out as some products recipes change and end up with added sugar when there wasn't any before hand. I made a similar mistake with breakfast cereal when I went onto the sloppies stage. I didn't realise it had 13 g of sugar per 100 g and I was very ill.

Muller light yogurts are fairly low in sugar and if the pot is too much for one sitting, just pit the rest in the fridge for later. Activia snackpots aren't too bad either.

*hugs*, I made a mistake last week with milk, Bought purple top 1% had a latte and was ill, Looked at the label and it had sugar in it! I was shocked.

Hi. My name is Sarah and I am due to have pre op 08/11/11 and bypass 13/09/11. I have not had any dietry advice as of yet. However, what do you mean by became ill? What actually happens? I am so worried! Thanks

When we say 'ill' it's basically an easier way to say we had an episode of dumping syndrome. It happens when you have something with too much sugar in it and it makes you feel sick, weak, have heart palpitations, very tired, sweaty and usually ends with a severe case of the runs. It's only a temporary problem but it does open your eyes to how much sugar is in various different products. My dietician said to only eat products that have only 10g or less of sugar per 100g of product. You'll be better off speaking to your team about what their advice is. Best of luck x
