Biltong !

Had my first taste of beef biltong yesterday - it's a South African dried/cured meat. I thought it was really tasty and might make a good snack. The nutritional value looks good... Approximate Nutritional value for 100 grams beef biltong.

I've never had jerky but I think it's similar. Same principle anyway ! The biltong tasted moist and spicy - it really got the juices going in my mouth !

South African spicy air dried meat. I used to work at the airport and people used to bring all kinds of biltong through...including some wild animal stuff!

High in salt and fat, so don't go crazy, but there are worse snacks. Can't stand the stuff myself lol.

I tried it cos it seemed high in protein

:8855: The biltong I tried was bought direct from a south african butcher, so it was probably good stuff compared to what you might buy pre-packed.
