Thanks for starting this thread loop - very interesting to see the replies.
My answers are ...

1. What Type of surgery did you have ?
RNY gastric bypass

2. What date was your surgery ?
11 September 2015

3. How much weight have you lost since the start of your pre op Diet ?
4 stone 2 pounds

4. What is the best thing that has changed since the operation ?
I can already feel the effect of the weight loss even in such a short time, I can walk upstairs without groaning at the knees

5. What is the worst thing that has changed since the operation ?
My appetite has completely gone and my taste buds seem changed, I no longer enjoy even my mugs of coffee (and I was a coffee addict before the op). I thought I'd still be able to enjoy my food just in much smaller quantities but I don't really enjoy eating at all. This could also be seen as a positive though as the weight's dropping off.

6. What has surprised you most after the operation ?
How easy it all was, I had no pain at all and was back at work after a week (sedentary office job).

7. What has been your most useful item/device since the operation ?
Kitchen scales - for portion control. (Also Sky+ box during the week after the op spent lazing around in my fluffy jammies binge watching TV)

8. What is your favourite meal post operation ?
Not sure yet as I'm just starting on solids, but I've developed a liking for Skyr yoghurts

9. Do you have any regrets ?
Only that I didn't go privately to have the operation sooner, I was lucky to wait only a year to have it on the NHS but most of that year was spent waiting anxiously and worrying about meeting the various milestones

10. What one piece of advice would you give any pre oppers ?
This will only work if your head's in the right place so do your research and if you're sure it's for you then go for it!

I agree, it's fantastic to have all that information on one thread. Need more sleevers and banders to reply, as I'm still pre-op and still concerned about things.
