Hi everyone, I wear underwired bras, are these going to be uncomfortable post surgery? Has anyone any suggestions?

mine was but only for a few days...and my normal one was way too big within a fornight!

I just went 'au naturel' for a few days!

Hi Beth, I have a couple of soft sports bra which I shall use since I would have thought that for the benefit of healing, I would keep these on for a few days to help support my back.. if you get my drift... it's getting nearer and I'm thinking of your every step Angel, I am stuck in bed, but you are tucked up with me in my laptop!
Love and hugs always xxx

YES, YES, YES!!

Mine were very uncomfortable. Luckily I had some old non-wired ones. They looked awful and let my boobs droop to my belly button but I couldn't wear the wired ones for about 2 weeks.

I would think Karen, it would be better to wear a bra... particularly me with heavy (.)(.)'s and it has to be a relief to have some support off the belly... if you get my drift... xxx

I do get your drift Bev.

BeaBea I would invest in a couple of soft cotton sports bras. I wish I had before my op.

The soft sports bra's are a great invention... so comfortable and I would think about this Beth... it's difficult with bra's but comfort and support is a luxury after any surgery... hope this helps... xxx

hi beabea,

I took a sportsbra and a wired one into hospital, and I had to wear the sportbra, the underwire dug into my wounds.
I would go and get some cheap soft bras..just to get you through until you can wear wire again.. xx
good luck

ahem I did overhang some of my wounds...but they had dressings on...then after a fortnight I found a soft bra I could get into that was way too small before!

Bon Marche do some inexpensive soft bras in bigger sizes. No point spending a fortune because they will soon get too big.

I'm wearing closer, more fitted clothes now and wondered recently if I'd gone too far as I could feel a tightness around my middle. It took me a couple of days to realise that it's because I can now FEEL my bra sitting on my ribs ! :8855:No fat to cushion it any more... Gosh, what a journey of discovery this is !

Aww Rose... that's worth looking forward to in the future! Love and hugs xxx

Hi, I went out today and looked around, forgot to try Evans when I was near by and by the time I thought about it my feet were rejecting me. Karen I went into Bon Marche, but their largest soft bra was tight but worth a try.

So, came home and had another look around on the internet. I came to Simply Yours and found a two for one £18 offer size 46 fits all cup sizes. I suppose it is what I would term a sleep bra, but looks really nice and comfortable.
