Thank you everyone for your good wishes!
Everything went like clockwork.
Arrived a bit early at 07:30 (traffic wasn't as bad as it could have been)
Then was taken to the Day Treatment ward - delighted to find that an overnight stay was unlikely to be required, met with Mr Super (lovely man, very reassuring, nice Scottish accent) and the Anesthetist (lovely man, very reassuring, blue eyes like me), signed the consent form, and had my obs done.
Was second on the list, walked to theatre (kept my own knickers on under the nice big gown in case you are interested) at 10am, and was back on the ward by 11:10am.
First drink of water at noon, followed by a welcome cup of tea (and yes Gary - it was sip, sip, sip!)
A dose of cocodamol at 3pm and I was ready to roll!
No pain from any of the 5 incisions yet (they are glued so no stitches or clips to be removed), but I had some shoulder pain (as expected from posts on this site) which has been eased with the painkillers.
Hugged a squishy pillow between the seat belt and me on the way home (again - tip from here - see I do listen!)
Got home about a hour or so ago, and started logging down what I'm drinking so that I can see what and when I am drinking.
I hope my fellow 22/11ers all got through OK, especially Kate - I hope all was straightforward this time.
Here's to the start of the rest of my life which will not be centred around food once I've got the healing process out of the way.
