catheter query

Well the nurse kept tripping over mine when she was trying to remove it!!

And yes, my 'John Thomas' was a little knocked about. Given any other time I probably would have been glad for the all the attention it was getting, but alas, not this time!

Yes i know the feeling!! still, these embarassing bits are all part of the metamorphosis i spose!! wont be as bad as the 'snip', i was awake for that one!!

I didn't mind being awake for the catheter removal, I just wished there hadn't been as much 'traffic' round my bed at the time!

But awake for the snip!!! Jesus, you need the Victoria Cross!

I had a bypass 12 days ago and had a catheter fitted during surgery and it was removed the following morning.

Didn't really feel it whilst it was in. Didn't hurt at all whilst being removed, felt odd but not sore.

I had one after my op, not painful at all;)

Actually Julie the opening to the urethra or entrance to the urinary bladder is actually inside the vagina in women about an inch up on the back wall and alot of ladies dont know that so is worth knowing.
Fuze you are right retention is not pleasant, and it does depend area to area surgeon to surgeon whether they use catheters or not, also how op went.
Good luck debbie jane
