chewing gum

i couldnt live with my chewing gum - didnt really bother with it before op - suppose i was too busy eating rubbish lol

I was told its a no no forever as stimulates you wanting food too, as well as risk of it being swallowed and damaging pouch.

Chewing gum stimulates the gastric juices ready for food risking an ulcer, it also means you swallow a lot of air let alone the risk of swallowing the gum itself & blocking the pouch. I find when the need to chew becomes unbearable if I nibble on some Australian liquorice, good for preventing constipation (in moderation as after all it has a lot of sugar). But it satisfies the need to chew something without risking other side effects.

Worth a try but be careful with sugar free sweets etc they contain sorbitol which if taken in large enough amounts (& that varies for each individual) can trigger diahorrea.
