I have to say, the thing im most excited about wheb thinking about post surgery weight loss is the thought of walking into a shop and buying nice clothes without having to look in the back rail for size 20 so hiding the label as im so ashamed. Shallow i know-when i should be thinking about like without joint pains etc. Its just that i havent bought clothes in sooo long. My current ones are falling to pieces and iv literally got one top to wear when i go out. Just cant bring myself to buy clothes in the size i am. Feels like im accepting it or something. Weird i know.

Sarahmaria, you say you hated having to look to the back of a rail for a size 20 ..... but at the start of my journey I was a size 32 and I had to look to the back of the rail in Evans and Evans only as there was absolutely no other choice.

For me even wearing a size 20 will be a totally new and life changing experience, something I have not been since approx 21 years old.

Currently I'm down to a comfortable 26 / tight in a 24 ..... but hoping the 24's will start to become my "comfy" size in another month or so.

And yes I should probably care more about the resolution of my Type 2 Diabetes, and the weight coming off my osteo-arthritic knees and hips ..... but dang that -- show me the clothes !!!!!

Lol we're typical girls eh? Yeah i know im lucky to be starting off in my wls journey at a relatively smaller weight than i could be. I know if i left it much later id soon be trawling evans for those size 32s. You must be delighted to have dropped those sizes! Soon evans will be a distant memory (which is a bit sad considering they do some lovely clothes).

Xx

I buy lovely clothes in charity shops as most of their clothes are sizes 8-12, and lots of practically new stuff as its either been bought too small or people have put weight on.

I dream of this. Although I looked at a size 18 that I had stashed in the cupboard and was convinced it would never fit anyone larger than a child. lol

i also CANNOT wait to start buying lots of new clothes,id love to be able to look nice in a pair of jeans, not too much to ask surely..also ive been collecting stiletto heels since ive been waiting for my op and cannot wait to start wearing them without fear of breaking them xx

This is wat I'm looking forward to most :) I'm currently a 18/20 (tho I pour myself into a 18) I can't wait to go to next and buy all the pretty clothes I can only dream about! And I'm defo gonna buy something from Jane Norman haha instead of just drooling through the window then heading for a big mac cause I'm depressed lol roll on the 18th o June for my op x

I'm dying to wear 'normal' sized clothes too, and as I've said before and I know it's crazy but I just want to go to Primark and buy some of their great knickers and funky bras!

Here here!! To be able to buy clothes that are reasonable price & up to date in fashion will be lovey! Can't wait to do that. All these pretty dresses that just don't cover those of a larger size....going to be lush!

omg tell me about it to actually go into a shop and get something off the rack that is duke or metaphore is spurring me on, it is so difficult for us guys as there is only a few specialist shops across england and nothing in the high street and it cost 2-3 x more than high street brands, it is so good to know that i will be able to drop my 4xl tents of at the dump and get me some nice cheap clothes:)

It wd b great to b able to buy cheap bras! Instead of boulder holders at £30 each x

Haha thought it was only me that called them that! 'over shoulder boulder holders' :D

Right now Ive gone down from 26( 28 in denial) to size 22/24 which was my usual size 4 years ago. Cant wait for size 18 which I havent been for 13 years. I love clothes and fashion so cant belive that one day I will be a size 12. But I'm definitely working towards it ;)

Tell me about it. I spend sometimes nearly £40 on a bra. I was 42JJ pre-op. Don't know what I am now as there are gaps in my cups but my back is definitely down to 38- 3 months post op. Cant wait to hit london in 2 weeks time and get measured.;)
