Ah I can see where this thread has come from now and yes in reference to many things especially the pre op diet follow what your bariatric team says however with reference to my thread on the bad tummy, that tummy pain does where of and I was merely seeing if others may experience the same pain. If I was ill from it i'd have a temp, fast pulse, high resps and be going septic so I didn't need to call my bariatric team. If i'd called my team they'd have said it was swelling and told me to bugger off. Having said this I still stick by that sometimes they are wrong esp with my vitamins! I'm really miffed about that lol!

Clare I beg to differ. I know its not quite the same thing but I didn't have a temperature fast pulse etc, yet I was slowly bleeding to death and didn't have a clue about it.

Lesley I am so with you on this. I too think there is just nowhere near enough info out there and what there is does seem to vary a lot from surgeon to surgeon. It is time they got their heads together and sorted it out.

Even the info we were given was pretty sparce and we were the lucky ones, Walsall does seem to be just that little bit further foward than most.

Mind you if a surgeon and his dietician can't agree on whether their patients should have sugar free jelly or not post op, then its going to take a lot of doing to get them to agree on a nationwide strategy....lol

Oh do you remember them disagreeing over the sf jelly and the ice cream?? Your right if they can't agree on simple issues like that well i ask you!!!!

I really do believe we need to do something to nudge them - i would have for others to feel like i did and others who like yourself have had longer journey's than others xx
