constipation after band???? help

My mum is into her third day with the band and is really constipated. I am now 5 weeks post op but never had any trouble with toilet issues. Can anyone advice me on what i should get her????

constipation is normally down to the pain killers, is she on codiene ? senokot is good to try. i hope she feels better soon

Thanx Liz...yes she is on codiene she has only had 4 bless her. i never had so carnt really comment. I know people say to be careful about laxatives because some can give you the grips.x

i cant take codiene for that reason. But benofiber is very good you just put it in the drink of your choice. It has no flavor and helps ease things along.

yup, get her on benefibre once a day. If she's bad now she can either try a glycerine suppository or senokot do a laxitive drink thats easier on the post op stomache than a tablet. both available from chemist.

i take codien every day and it does it to most people fruit juice is good to get things going
