Contraceptive pill after gastric band

Hi, Im not sure if this is a silly question but i have read all tablets after gastric band surgery have to be in liquid form. How does this work with conraceptive pill. I forgot to ask at my consultation.

I was never told no, the pill is tiny and shouldn't cause any problems x

Hi Hun Some medications are available in liquid form but you have to push your GP as they are mega expensive - because of their weight. There is also a crusher available that the hospital gave me and it crushes all tablets into a fine powder. I did ask my GP and he let me have all of mine apart den my thyroxine in liquid form and it was 200.00 per bottle!! I said don't worry doc I will crush that one. Thanks you both, think i will just ask if i can take it as it is so small but if not i will just crush it x

I took mine too I was told there would be no issues due to the size
