Does anyone else have this problem? Associating food with anxiety.
After years over over eating and binging.
I have realized My anxiety takes over and I eat (way to much)

So My question is after My RNY how do I deal with my anxiety.?
I'm trying so hard right now not to go back for seconds. And I know I won't be able to after surgery.

But My insides are jumpy, I have My nervous leg shake going on.

Any suggestions ?

Are you on anti depression tablets?Ive been on them pre and post op.It has really helped me.You will have to find a coping mechanism that doesnt involve food. Its hard, many turn to drink so be aware of that.Speak to your gp or the psych doc on your team.Best of luck.Maz

I don't have an answer for you but am very interested in this thread and if anyone has any advice.
I first started getting anxiety attacks about 5 years ago- they were terrible at one stage but now under control. Whenever I was having an attack I always thought maybe i should eat something as it may make me feel better.... Funnily enough, I only ever started putting on weight about 4/5 years ago too.... Coincidence?!
Xx

I am taking Zoloft and have for years. It helps bit not all the time.
I used to take Xanax but My new primary Dr won't fill for me.

I heard about the drinking also, will definitely be OK in that definitely
