food bills post op?

I was just wondering, did you find you food bills went down post op due to not eating as much?

Or did you find because you were perhaps buying different things to before, it went up?

.x.

I guess mine have gone done by about a tenner...I buy much more fresh fruit and veg and salad now. But as I eat so little I make sure all my food is the best money can buy...:D

im expecting mine to go down a lot ... i must spend around 200 a week as i cook everyday .. and i don't buy anything frozen i have nothing in my freezer but ice and ice cream theres nothing else in there ..

i buy everyday for what i need . i wont have bread older than 2 days or milk .. i wont eat meat if its been open longer than a day.

im very fussy .. i buy everything fresh and i buy from the deli i don't like pre packed food cheap ham and so on ..

so every day i decided what im doing for dinner and i buy it when im out and about .. every trip to the supermarket is never under 50 pounds and i go 4 or more times a week .

so i reckon my spending will go down a huge amount .

wow!!!

mind you, i'd be the same if i could afford it hahahahah

Wow that is one heck of a food bill, thats my monthly amount for 2!!!!!

yea i know im really bad i can not wait for the day that i forget about food .. i cook for 2 me and the other half .. 2 men .. big portions..

im a food snob and i know i am its bad i like the best of everything food wise.

and it really gets me down i wish and prey for the day that i wake up and i don't have to think about what we are having for dinner today .. i can not shop for a weeks shopping i have to wait till the day to know what i feel like.

its getting harder and harder all the time im sick of hearing my self say what do you want for dinner tonight and then the effort i have to put in to get what i want its bad.

thats why i can not wait till i have this op and i can not eat lol its sad but true ..

those of you who are on my face book will see the relationship i have with food and fresh food and how much i cook .. sad really that food can make a person this way.

You can still have good quality, I only buy organic meat and dairy. I also like to buy from farmer's markets when I can...my brother was a chef in a Michelin star restaurant, so I also have a love of food and flavours...its his fault. LOL

I was like you but now, I still love it all, just eat soooooooooo much less of it.

You will be fine and once your body settles your relationship with quantity will change and if you are like me, some of your tastes too.

I enjoy cooking, and i really enjoy baking. (cupcakes with fancey icing, and jewish apple cake seem to be top of my list)

I really enjoy making food for people.
And now I live in the middle of nowhere in the highlands, I've got really into venison, and local meats and food. (not hagis though, blurgggghhhhhhh)

At times I van be a reaaaaal snob about food. But I've got a lot better.

I fully know what you mean about waiting for a day where you don't have to put a ton of thought into what your eating!!!

mines stayed the same although the content has changed alot i tend to make more things myself and hav alot more salad and dont like iceburg lettice so spend more a week on leaves than anything else lol

mine has gone down a lot, i no0 longer buy loads of snacks or meals at work, plus i always bought fresh food for cooking at home anyway so the smaller portions mean big savings for me

i guess it varies a lot huh.

i'm hoping mine will go down a lot... im so used to having big meals.
Since being with my my better half has put weight on... so maybe ill just nick food off his plate insted of making my own, get his weight down too lol

*to be fair to by better half, he has only put on maybe a stone, in the year we have been together, and he is not even close to over weight... the git lol*

perhaps the difference can be explained by the family size? i for instance am the only one here other then jonah so so no kids ect to stock up for

Brett,

We are all here for the same reason - an unhealthy relationship with food. However you have to get the gold star for most fastidious shopper. Just you wait until you start the preop. Ive made one loaf of bread last 2 1/2 weeks (kept in the fridge!) Its just about ok for one more slice of toast tomorrow am!

Mine has stayed the same (about £75/80 a week) I still have to feed the others lol

I buy a ton more protein (which is expensive) but I buy it in bulk and cook it in bulk. However, I was a binge eater so all I ate was junk which was very costly. So, I'd say my food bills have definitely gone down. Now, my vitamins/mineral bills....that's a different story. ;)

lol
