What soups did you manage immediately after op, I need to get some in, I would normally have oxtail could I sieve that and have it ?

Thanks Clare
What sort of soups did you mAke ? Are we ok to have bouillon in them and white pepper ?
Recipes would be great

Just trying to explain to my other half, he wants to make up a batch of chicken and veg soup we would have to blend it and sieve it wouldn't we ?

I saw the dietician weeks ago so I'm confused

Hi Adrienne, I saw my team on Friday and op is on Thursday, she said I can eat anything I want after as long as it is pureed....... roll on thursday lol xx

Good Luck x

What are you eating today ?
So you will
Just purée? I thought it had to be completely
Liquidised ? No bits etc?
You nervous? I am xx

Thanks Clare

I think recipes are on my thread.... I made mushroom, vegetable, butternut squash & red pepper, chicken, corgette....
Much better than tinned! All you need are same basic ingredients for all soups...I didn't sieve, pureed and it was all smooth no lumps x

I made my own too :) chicken and mushroom was divine lol no recipe, just chucked in a chicken breast (done in my soup maker so chicken was boiled before hand) a punnet of mushrooms with 2 stock cubes and pepper. Wizzed it up after and strained it was pretty yummy just didn't look the best lol I tried Clares pepper and butternut squash recipe was lovely, but my fav was just every kind of veg i had hanging around with stock cubes wizzed up and strained. As i moved on stages i would add a laughing cow light the thicken it up :) My hospital info was no bits completely strained !! you should get info sheets on discharge they should explain more x x x very gl

I just read my instructions again, complete liquids only for 4 weeks then puréed
Where would I find Clare's recipes? X her thread?

Hi Adrienne, yes I will eat pureed straight away, I am having a bypass. My team say to eat puree for four weeks and to eat anything as long as it is pureed. Obviously I got to be sensible with fats and sugars etc so I have been pureeing anything I have leftover that is appropriate for the last few weeks and freezing it.

Cauliflower cheese, chicken lasagne, chicken curry, mushroom soup, vegetable soup etc.

Cant wait to start eating something with a different flavour now lol. I am one of these people that needs to be organised though as I have quit4e a busy life so that is why I have been freezing food for a couple of weeks xx

Good luck hun x

Every area is different Adrienne, I am not such but thankful I live in a puree zone lol. Dont know how i wud cope with liquids.

I am 4 days post op now and to be honest I have had it easy. I havent had a pain killer! no pain, just wind which i walk about to get rid of it. I have had allsorts since i been home.

I am in Sunderland, The one from weight loss ward from telly, they have been great and that is how they do it here.

I have had chicken lasagne, cauliflower cheese, fish in sauce, stewed apples the list goes on and i only been home two days lol. they said to try n drink 3-4 pints of liquid a day n to eat 6 - 8 small meals a day (two to three tablespoons) or til you feel full. Not sure how that feels so sticking to the three tablespoons x

Ask is there is a reason for liquids only! may just be the area thing not sure hun. good luck tho xx

P.s. I had a bypass x
