Getting slightly worried and tearful now!!!!!

NEED TO LOSE!
I had my bypass 2 weeks yesterday, 30th January. To date I have lost 5kg, that was 6kg on Friday but as of today I have put 1kg back on!!!:cry::cry:

The only thing different is I went from liquids to puree's over the weekend. I surely should have lost more than 5kg in 2 weeks, especially when all I have been having is liquids!!!??????

I am trying to contact the dietician, but no one getting back to me:(

I don't know what to do, I am beside myself and thinking that the operation hasn't worked as I am having no pain, all my incisions have healed and no restrictions only when my pouch is full.
I can drink a full cup of milky drink, tea, water, juice etc. I have a full 250ml slimfast for breakfast no trouble and for my lunch and tea I having 1 spoon of veg, 1 spoon of potato, 1 spoon of protein-fish or chicken, all pureed. If I a little peckish at night I will have small amount of sugar free jelly and low fat custard. I also drink water throughout the day.
I am so disappointed and just don't know what to do??????????

Just a cotton pickin' minute Sarah!!!

You say you have lost 5kg in 2 weeks and you're complaining about it? 5 kg is 11 pounds. 11 pounds in 2 weeks is 5 and a half pounds a week. I would be STOKED if I lost that much in a week! Whatcha complaining about??

Most of us can drink freely without restriction. It's only eating that gives us the full feeling so it all sounds very normal to me. You're doing brilliantly and probably just have a case of the "what on earth have I done to myself?"s :)

I know Ruthie, but I get all mixed up and when I convert the kg to stone and lb's it doesn't relay the same.... But I have just checked my phone against other conversions on here and my phone has been converting wrong!!!

I have actually only lost 4kg, not 5kg, which is just over 8lb.. I just expected, like a lot of us, a lot more!!!!!! Still I will have to wait and see.

Thanks

8lbs is still 4lbs a week so pretty good. I know what impatience is like...we want all the weight to disappear overnight, but just think how long it took you to get to your size; and be patient..this is for the long haul and there's no rush.

Its actually 8.8 lbs so thats even more. I know when i was 2 weeks out its all i could think about. I dont know about you but my best weight loss was the pre op diet (14lbs in 2 weeks) and i was eating more then!! Your loss is really good, dont drive youself round the twist about it.
Kim

2.2 lbs in a kilo :) so if it's 4 kilos multiply by 2.2 and if it's in lb's and you want kilos divide by 2.2 :)

On the pre-op I lost 4lbs. Since my op 6 wks ago I've lost 18lbs.
I'm losing considerably slower than most people on here hun. In fact my friends who are attending slimming world are losing faster than me and I've managed to stay the same this week.
I've had the tearful stage where I wish I hadn't bothered and went to slimming world with my friends (then I could still go out drinking at weekends and socialise with food) BUT I'm in this for the ling haul. I didn't get fat overnight and I won't get slim overnight either.
If I hadn't had this operation this week when I stayed the same I'd fall off the wagon spectacularly eating and drinking my own bodyweight.
Our bodies are all different and we'll all have different weight loss journeys.
Try not to worry hun. You're running a marathon not a sprint!!!
xxx

You are doing just right lovely.. dont get upset.... so far you have done so well... it will come off, fo some people its faster..others its slower... but the weight will shift xx big hugs hun xx

I think your weight loss is fine. I only lost 2lb this week - my second week from the op. I was a little disappointed - but I know I have not broken any rules and I have put my body through a major trauma.

As someone else has said - this is about the long haul. And for me - it's not so much about losing weight (I was the diet champion) it's about keeping it off and that's what I hope the bypass will do for me.

Don't be upset, honey  I have never had any of the big losses you see some people have on here, either. I lose around 2 to 4 lb a week, but here I am just short of 20 weeks out & 5 & a bit stone lighter. :D I lost some on the milk diet too. It is a real shock to your system & does take a few weeks to settle down, but you will get there, sweetie. Chin up, hon :):)

a loss is a loss in this game so try not comparing as everybody is different...youre getting small so turn those tears into smiles :) xx

Thanks everyone. It seems that alot are like me, so I will try and stop worrying. Thank you so much, I just don't ever want to see a gain on them scales!!!!!!!!!!! Been there too many times.
I used to loose loads on SW, but as soon as I stopped doing it the weight would go back on, along with another 1-2 stone. Like you all, I in it for the long haul and if its staying off, I'm fine. xxxxxx

Sarah hang in there, you are loosing weight and some weeks it will be slower or even stand still as your body thinks its going into a famine so hang in there there is only one way its going to go now and that is down!! I also ws slower than others but here i am 3 years on 10 stone lighter, it will happen!!! take care and good luck
