StephieAck

I know Ive changed!
Well, I am nine and a half months out from surgery and was taking pictures of my scars the other day and have decided to share them with you. Im hoping that some of you will share you own too.
Mine are quite dark, I think it is because I had glue and not stitches and it didnt stay so well and the wounds pulled open slightly, as you can see from the scars.
You cant see all of my scars on the pics, I have six altogether.
Anyway...

If i could put a pic on i'd take one just to show you what a big un looks like...

Funny enough me and wannabeslimagain were comparing scars whilst i drove us somewhere the other week, no mean feat seeing as i was driving and wearing a dress :)

Was only as i pulled my dress down i realised Andy (Lisa's husband) was sat in the back of the car behind her... Luckily for me i think there was a camper van passing and once there's one of them around you just can't get his attenion lol xx

They've healed really nicely Steph. You know you could always make something decorative out of them, like tatoo lines to join them up and make them look like a stellar constallation!

I'm allergic to that glue they use so I guess it will be stitches for me.

I've got 8 scars in all - some were certainly stitched but I'm not sure all were. Three months on I don't they they look bad - I'll see if I can take some photos tomorrow.

Lol Julie.....Im suprised there wasnt a pile up!
and Kelly.......I know you dont usually pass up the offer of a large one :D

I was just checking out my wounds today as i changed my dressings this evening. I have 5 little wounds, 2 really tiny and 3 about an inch long. They all look really neat and like they're going to be quite tiny scars. I'm even hoping I might be able to wear a bikini one day!

I have 5, 3 of which have developed psoriasis on top (one of the risks of surgery when you have psoriasis).

Thanks for all of those replies xx
I wish I healed like hubby, he has an arthroscopy a few years back and you have to really concentrate to find his scars lol
My scars arent bad, theyre just not as neat as they could have been, I would never compare myself to someone with worse than me obviously though. I just scar funny, I had a lump removed from my shoulder and that scarred oddly and where I had ovarian diathermy there is a little T scar near my belly button, which I laugh about because the op was to help me to get pregnant by my hubby Tom and I say that it seems fitting to be scarred with his initial lol
Its the way that I scar that would make me cautious of eye surgery (would love my upper lids lifting a teeny bit).
Ah well, there are much worse things in life, I didnt have the surgery to be able to run around with my midriff out so I dont much care what my scars look like lol Just thought I would do a scars thread as I know that it was something I was interested in pre-op.
Liz...thanks for the tummy tuck pics, how come they did one down the middle?
Steph xx

This is really interesting. I had a laproscopic cholesystectomy about 8 years ago and my scars looked just like yours do now in the early days. i have just looked now and i would send a pic..but i can barely see them so they won't come out on a pic! The only that i have a scar with is in my belly button and that was a mch bigger hole (about 3cm) but it's still not bad.
Liz
That is amazing! My apron is not disimilar to how yours was and your results are outstanding! The scarring is minimal i think and i would love my belly to look so good...i'd definately be able to get a bikini on for the beach :)

Thanks for all posting the pics they are so useful.

OK here are my scars -

You can only really see the middle three, where the psoriasis has developed. There is another one just under my bra in the middle, and one round to the left side.

This picture (ignore the stretchmarks!) shows 2 scars, the obvious one with the psoriasis on, and to the left you can just see another one, which is the final bypass scar. That was actually the largest, as it's where the main instruments go in. I had internal stitches and external staples.

My excess skin doesn't look too bad in these pics, its amazing what a front on view hides!

Oohh look at your shape Shel...you have a lovely shape at your waist, you look petite, lovely.
Steph xx

Shel didn't realise you'd posted pics here (as per other thread). Your scars are not bad, just the psoriasis makes them look a bit worse. Your waist is beautifully curvy and the excess skin is not clear from the front (you're right) but i suspect looking at the shape and you BMI it's all in the front there? I hope you get your TT :)
