Hi,
I am three days post op and i am so pleased to have it done. Did anyone else find it dead hard to go for a wee?? And teh other of course!!! gUTTED I have not lost a bean!

Hi Bungle

what have you had done..band/bypass?

the anaesthetic could be causing you to not wee...I was the same several days post op and had to make myself sit on the loo as the urge just wasn't there ...don't worry though, it will return.

Welcome to Minis btw :)

Just make sure you keep yr fluids up. you got rid of all the glycogen out of yr liver prior to the op and so now only have the fluids yr putting in so make sure you get as much in as you can manage.
dont even worry about yr weight loss at this stage yr body had had a major trauma and is in shock.

Soz cant offer u any advice but did not want to read and run, am sure there will be plenty f experienced post opp bypass peeps along soon.
Congrats on passing over to the losing bench xxx

As others have said, you have just had a major operation, your body is still in shock.

Welldone for going to the losers side of things. Hope things start to feel better soon.

:) xxxx

Hi Bungle and:welcome2: to minis. Keep the fluids up and give your body time to recover. The weight loss will start but you need to make sure you eat and drink what your team have advised and this will help you "GO" in both ways.Hope you feel better soon and good luck on your weight loss journeyx

thanks for that. I feelbetter knowing I am not the only one who could not wee. I had the bypass.

Hi Bungle

welcome to the losing side :) did you have a catheter while you were in hospital? If so, sometimes this can cause you not to pee. Also, keep your fluids up or that won't help!
Make sure you have enough fluid but if it becomes painfull when you pee or if you cant pee and your bladder is full then call the doctor.
Good luck with your journey, and dont worry about "the other" as that can be day 4-6!!

Hi and welcome to our little family. I can only echo the advice already given. Just make sure you drink as much as you can, it should sort out most bathroom issues. You will retain some fluids post-op so don't go thinking you haven't lost! It took at least a week for me to lose the bloated feeling post-surgery so if I had weighed then I might have been discouraged. Do your self a favor and hold off weighing until you are 2 weeks post-op. By then you should be getting a good level of liquids in and should have lost the bloating. You will be happier if you don't torture yourself with your scale. Have your family/partner/friend hide your scale until you are 2 weeks out and then you can be pleasantly surprised!

Best of luck,
Nic;)

Welcome to the forum!! You have definitely come to the right place as everyone here will help you in any way they can!! I'm still pre-op so can't really help with your questions but just wanted to say hi!!!!

Good luck with "everything"!!!

Thanks everyone for that. I am pleased to say I am weeing again!!!!!
Feeling tons better. Not had any painkillers today and went out for a little walk as well.
All in all, things are good.
Thanks EVERYONE once again.
xxxxxx

Welcome to the forum - I am relieved you have passed water (as I bet you are!!) and the bowel movement will happen, it just might take a couple more days - it's all an adjustment. Good luck!

Hello & welcome, Glad to hear your doing well & good luck on your weight loss journey

I just want to say Hi and welcome to Minis. I can't offer any advice because I'm still pre-op but the advice you've already been given sounds good. From what I've been told, weight loss takes a little while to appear. You are still swollen from the surgery and you got rid of a lot of water when you did your pre-op diet (every gram of glycogen holds 4 grams of water) so your body needs to hold on to some. As everyone else has said, sip, sip, sip. Good luck on 'the other' I'm sure you'll see it soon. Mxx
