Hi Ming,
I'm 16 days post op and i had it done with WGA at Dolan Park near Birmingham, Mr Super was my surgeon. The hospital was clean and all the nurses were lovely. I only stayed one night and was discharged by 8 the next morning. I was phoned by a nurse that evening and then again 2 days later to make sure i was ok and to see if i had any questions. I only paid for the basic package which included transport, the op and 1 x-ray fill which is booked for April 9th. WGA and THG have had some really bad reviews, I can only speak for myself but I would recommend them to anyone. Good luck whatever you decide.

Hiya I went with WGA and paid £5000 for my band. I paid £50 to see my surgeon in leeds and had my op done at Dolan Park. What you get for that 5 grand is very basic. I arrived at the hospital at 7am but wasn't taken down for surgery until 8.30pm. I was then woken at 5.30 to prepare for leaving at 6.30! I have not had any phone calls and my first fill will not be included when I have my xray on the 2nd April to ensure that the band is in the correct place.
I knew what I was getting (or not!) when I went in for that package so cannot complain really. It depends how desperate you are and what you can afford. But when I think about it I looked into having it done a bit ago and was quoted 9 grand! What do you get extra for that money? The only thing I felt a bit cheated with was my stay in hospital, it could and should have been longer but I am also glad that I didn't pay an extra 4 grand for this and fills because you can get those done quite cheaply at about 80 quid a pop. It's all down to personal expectations and as in all things in life money!

Is it the WLS group that offer banding in Preston for £5995? Its not that much more than WGA but has aftercare included I think?

I know that WGA have put up their price now by £500, making it now £5500. So like Shel said I would look into the other option if you get aftercare as there is hardly any difference in price.

Yes thats right - you can go to the other places for aftercare but the preston hospital is cheaper for the op as it isnt a 'private' hospital. Overheads lower etc. Im thinking of going with them.
