At the stage of getting prices and consultations for gastric bypass.

well had my consultation today with phoenix health. THey want sleep apnoea checked out first grrrr.

Another appointment with Mr Li of healthier weight in fortnight.

Waiting on word back from nuffield, the hospital group, and spire re. Prices etc

It sounds like you're doing a lot of research into your options which is vital, as are the pre op tests. I know they can feel frustrating but they told me they wanted to make sure I didn't stop breathing on the operating table which seemed fair enough
WLS is life changing and a huge commitment but, in my experience at least, totally worth it.

Did you decide against going to Belgium in the end?

Yes a few things didnt sit right with me re. Belgium just. I kept postponing it & guess it was in back of my mind.

Decided to go closer to home, but now its just looking reviews, recommendations. Tbh im hoping healthier weight consult is better than today, as i just wasnt completely won over.

I'm having a sleeve with Mr Li on 11th November. So far he has been fantastic.

When comparing prices make sure you compare the package and what support they are offering, if it includes psychological and dietician support - this is really important.

Don't rush the process of WLS it is a big thing and means big changes mentally and physically - my advice is research research and research some more on what will happen, what might happen and on what your use of food will be like afterwards. As well as making sure you are comfortable with the surgeon and the healthcare package on offer.
