Holiday Travel Insurance pre-op

Has anyone found a decent insurance company that will provide cover at a reasonable cost to people with pre-existing medical conditions (like high blood pressure/high cholesterol)?
I've found a couple of companies that will provide cover, but at very inflated prices (all about risk, I suppose!)

The Post Office gave me travel insurance about 3 years ago - I had to pay a bit more as I needed to be covered for my Bipolar disorder, it wasn't a ludicrous amount more though.
