Honey - YES OR NO

Hi all,
I just had my surgery, 17th October, so am still on the puree and mash food. Question I have is, can we have honey. I am nervous of trying in case it causes dumping syndrome, but would like to put some in porridge instead of sweetener. What say you all? T

Personally I wouldn't try it yet. It's still a form of sugar really. If you really want to try it though, just have half a teaspoon and see how you go :)

I'm with Paula. Honey makes me dump and I'm 18 months out.

Blimey they served me natural yoghurt and honey for breakfast when I was in hospital? Perhaps I was just lucky not to dump....I would go with the advise of longer post-oppers and perhaps avoid. Shame because honey is natural, antiseptic and tastes good.

I think you were lucky hon! Remember some of us don't dump :) But even now, more than half a teaspoon and I'm sicky immediately.
