I taught I would throw in a bit of light-heartiness here as I'm cracking up. Day 3 of my pre-op diet and I was so hungry going to bed last night that I woke up in a sweat this morning as I had a dream I went into McDonald's and ordered 3 big-macs! It was such a real dream that when I woke up I actually taught it happened for a few seconds and felt awful for caving in only 3 days in!!! Anyway all is fine today! :):)

Calorie-free dream burgers. Lush :-D

Night before last I dreamed I'd taken delivery of a new mobility scooter and woke up feeling excited.

I'm 45 years old, walk everywhere and have never so much as had even a pair of crutches!!!

Lol, I hear this a lot! You are doing great.

Lol. Omg.... I have not been able to get Big Macs out of head since the weekend ... Lol!!!

Did it taste any better in dreamland xx

Haha, that did make me giggle! I am craving meat to the point that even a McDonald's burger sounds tasty. I worry that I'll wake up one morning to find I've gnawed my hand off in my sleep, and then when I go for the op they won't do it because the fat in my illicit sleep-noshing of my hand has made my liver all fatty and hard again. Not the likeliest of scenarios, I grant you.

Enjoy those dream-burgers!:)

Hi you're not missing anything.
My husband and I were late getting in the other day and decided to stop off at McDonald's.
He had a Big Mac meal and I had a big tasty and fries.
I was looking forward to it and it smelt great. I nibbles around the edge of the burger avoiding the bread and had a couple of fries but was not enjoying it at all and left 90 percent of the burger and hubby had the fries.
My tastes have changed so much I can't tell you.
I really never thought I would not crave food, I don't crave anything now.
Sometimes I fancy something and think I will enjoy it but more often than not once I'm eating it I go off it.
My way of telling I've had enough is strange. I haven't heard of it from anyone else, most people have a pain in the shoulder or the full feeling is more like the pre-op full feeling.
Mine is I shudder like someone walked over my grave and that's it I can't eat any more. Even if there is only one more mouth full it won't go down. Weird.
Xx

These vivid dreams about food seem to happen a lot, I dreamed that I was in Germany and had several pieces of pastry after my op, woke up and panicked that I damaged my pouch... Until I realised it was just a dream, lol

Lol. I'm really glad that its not unusual. It's quite funny. But this is quite tough too. I did not realise how tough it was going to be. But I am not moaning I know it's all for the best and I do look forward to getting surgery and what I really look forward to is not feeling that hunger sensation. It's doing this pre-op diet and feeling so hungry. And I suppose one of the perks of the band is not feeling hungry even when you eat the smallest amount!!! Cannot wait!! Thanks for all your replies! Very funny stories too!xxx

Hold the Maccy D's :D

I'm in Costa and someone has sat right NEXT to me with TOAST. I don't know whether to bite them or the contents of their plate..... I haven't had toast (or bread) since April 2012.... big sigh......

But hey I'm THIN :character00180:

Hope I don't crave big macs, as I've never had one in my life ( Mrs mega-fussy eater here) :D

Oooohhhhh... Toast... Outside of a bacon butty the most tempting smell in the world has to be toast! I don't really bother with bread so I can't imagine I'll miss it, but the smell of toast is just heavenly.

Lol, this has happened to me! I had dreams last week, where I made plans about what I was going to eat the next day, and in my dream I looked in the cupboards what there was in there!

I really really miss eating toast with the butter melted in there and peanut butter spread on it,or jam, or some nice Edam cheese mmmmm! Lol, it's better for me not to eat it tho lol!

I'm almost 6 weeks post op and dreamt I went mad at a buffet last week and ate tonnes. I then remembered in my dream that I'd had a bypass and was then convinced that I'd been conned and the op hadn't taken place. I was so relieved when I woke up.

Well when I had my pastry dream, I thought I had broken my pouch in my dream... Thank goodness it was just a dream.

I wonder what my dream will be?? Scones strawberries and clotted cream no doubt :D

I am more anxious about succeeding on the pre-op diet than the pre-op itself.. is that normal? I am sure I will go through the whole selection of dream take-away menus when I begin ... :)
