IGA Deficiency

Hi all,
Ive just found out that I'm IGA deficient. I was just wonering if anyone whose post op has the deficiency. If so, did it affect your recovery post op at all ??

Hi Paula, have you been referred to an immunologist? I was found to be IgA deficient last year, they did a few extra tests to get a more specific reading and then just gave me a couple of vaccinations to check my body responded to them and it did and that was the end of it.

I'm reading it to meant Immunoglobulin A, it's one level of your immune system that runs around in your blood waiting to respond to any "foreign" cells that might enter your body, like a virus or bacteria.

Yes wobbletogo, I have an appointment on the 16th. I've also been given a card to carry, incase I need blood products in the future. My body is also making IgA anti bodies.
