Hi all,

Had band fitted Monday, first time Ive come on as not been able to sit so comfy. Thanks for all your good wishes.

Feel like Ive been hit by a train TWICE!!! but apart from that and a bit of wind pain occassionally Im fine.

The only thing Im worried about is Mr Sigurdsson has put the port in between my boobs!!! Has anyone else had it put there???? Ive tried even putting a non wired bra on and its so un comfy!! Really worried about it.

Hi hun, Congratulations on your band, glad your feeling ok. I don`t think mines in between my boobs although I haven`t had a feel lol. I can wear a wired bra ok. It may be uncomfy cos of the swelling hun, give it a few days and if its still bothering u I`d ring them. What did u think of the hospital & staff etc?? Can`t believe I missed u!!

I have 6 wounds that are glued and then the bigish one is right on my breast bone and that is stitched with a dressing on it. I asked the nurse if it was right and she said that it will be further down when I put bra on!!! I will try again in couple of days and if not like you said call. Where is yours?

Staff ok I know what you mean in the morning downstairs we was there till bout 9, then they just more or less left you, kept popping in to stick summat in you etcc.. I was the same as you kept drifting in and out all night. Didnt have my yogart couldnt stomach it. Discharged very quickly. Kaz stayed in her room till 12 as of her flight, sham you didnt met her.

hi and congratualtions !!! my port is also between my boobs i dont like it there, it will take a while to heal, im 10 weeks post op and i still cant wear an underwired bra as it rubbs on the wound, just keep it clean i wear a sports bra for now, its best to go with out if you are in the house as the air can get to it better, i find the bra makes me sweat there, i got an infection in that wound, so just keep it clean get plenty of air to it and it should heal ok.

Glad to hear you are ok...with each day you will feel better...

My port is 4 inches above my belly button and about 2 inches to the left. See my pic in album.

well done Dee! Welcome to the losing side. My port is about half way between mid boob and belly button but even so I couldn't wear a bra for a while after the op, so if need be for now just let things hang free and be comfy - is still very early days!!

mine was quite high but as time went on and swelling went down it seems to have dropped lol..
i didnt have to worry about bras as i have fake ones he he!

Glad you're ok dee, take it easy and give yourself time to recover x One of my bypass incisions was where your port is by the sound of it and I had to go braless for about 10 days post op.

Update

Well its been a week today.... Ive just had my first proper shower and it felt lush. Still cant put a bra on which is a bloody nightmare had to do school run this morning with a big baggy hoodie on. Going back to work on Thurs and I have def got to get one on by then, even a non wired one is painfull. I really cant understand why it was put there?!?!?!?!? It means everytime I have a fill aswell I will have my boobs hanging out. Oh well.

Food wise still on liquids for another week, not bothering me too much Im putting a bit of mature grated cheese into soups to melt in abit.

Wind pain I thought had stopped but had it in both shoulders last night, hot water bottle seemed to have shifted it.

Main thing now i feel is just building up my energy levels as most things really seem like an effort, the only pain Im getting is from the port site when Im doing certain things, like carrying 2 year daughter!

Most people seem to have had a call from Dolan Park a couple of days after op, I havent :( how rude!!! Im wondering whether to call cause I want to know if my band is empty cause a few people on here that went to Dolan Park found out they had some in.

Stroll on next week for the mush stage, first on list is COTTAGE PIE.

One question do you think I'll be okay going swimming this week?
And when did banders start in the gym?

Gosh I dont think I would like the port there as I rely on underwired bras and hate any discomfort when wearing one, hence I am always braless at home!!!....xx
 
Hi Deebol,

Couple of ideas for emergency boobage support! What about a swimming costume? Not ideal every day I know but for work maybe, or if you can get like a tankini top or a vest with a small amount of support maybe that would help. I had a couple of pyjama vests with a tiny amount of support in them which I lived in :)
 
Hiya thanks for all your suggestions etc re my dropy boobies, Ive been to asda and bought a new bra that has only a little bit of material in the middle so hopefully it wont touch the scar!!

And forgive me father for I have sinned..... Ive just had a little bit of chessy mash.......... it was my weeks band pressie. Oh god I blame Kaz & Cowgirl they have both a little bit of what they shouldnt so I thought if they can I CAN!!! Anyway I feel ok im just hoping I havent done any internal damage (slipping) etc. Thats it def soup for the next 7 days.

Can anyone answer me about the swimming situ please, is it ok for me to go this week one week after op?

Hi all

Update so far is Ive been to get weighed today and have only lost 4lb since op, 2 weeks ago!!! My stomach does still feel a bit swollen but apart from that was expecting a bit more as hardley bloody eating, oh well I was hoping for 2lb a week and thats exactly what Ive got so shouldnt complain.

My port site is alot better now no where near as sore as it was, numbness is still there.

Ive called Dolan Park today to see if Ive got any fluid in band after speaking to 4 people on phone and holding for about 20 mins!! Ive been told they will pull my file and have a look which will take 48 hours. She did say why do you want to know? How rude cause I paid £5k and I think its my privilege to know!!! Anyways see if they get back to me.

Hope you've all had a good week glad Im on mush now, heaven.

Hi hun, don`t b disheartened I weighed myself on fri and I`ve only lost 3lb since the op. Hoping for a good one this fri lol. Anyway 4lb off is great better than 4lb on and its 4lb closer to your target!!! I wonder if I`ve got owt in my band, Dr Super said it would b empty!! Feels empty, I`m getting bloomin hungry now. I`m gonna sort my fill out for when I have my x ray on the 25th. Keep up the good work hun xxx
 
Hi all

Just updating my little thread, weigh in this morning and lost 2lb I always said I'd be happy with a constant 2lb a week but when it actually happens i feel a bit deflated!! I know its 2lb off and in the right direction but Im having about 1000 cals a day. Oh well onwards and upwards, on the upside Im sure Ive lost inches cause everything is really lose on me.

My stomach is still numb and feels abit strange sometimes and my port was ok but was painfull last night. Had a poke around cause I havent really felt it and it is right on my breast bone I think! Prob go for my fill and its by my belly button and its not where I thought it was!!

Fill and xray is in 9 days time YIPPEEEE. Still eating mush can eat normally from next Monday but have fill Weds so got to go back to liquids and mush for a week.

Well done on your loss, 2lb is 2lb so you should be pleased. I always remember from SW when she shows you what a pound of fat looks like. Maybe we should all have one of those at home to remind ourselves of what we loose! So well done Dee your going in the right direction chick...xx
