Im itching to ring and see when my 3rd appoitment is.. someone tell me to be patient!

I am itching to ring Mr Small s clinic to see when my third appointment is but i just know i should try and have sme paitence but its so damm hard!!!! anyone else like me?.. i keep thinking ooo but what if they forget me or something? silly i know! arghhh having a rant i think xx

OMG yes. Just ring and ask if they have some sort of rough time scale to give you an idea. You won't be the first, just remember to be extremely nice and use your best p's and q's lol xx

HAA.... ok BUT i only rang about a week ago :-/... and the secretary didnt give me any date... do you think its ok to ring again?? and see if a dates been given?... x

Oh no i wouldn't ring expecting a date. I'd ring expecting to see if she had any idea how much time usually elapses between the 2nd and 3rd appt.....

Sunderland wont give you a op date over the phone, you only will be put on the waiting list when there ready to put you on then its a 26 weeks wait after that, every one is in the same position at Srh unfortunatley x

Hey hun... o no its not the op date it s my third appointmnet for seeing if i reached my weightloss target and then i get put on the waiting list........ mr balupuri said to me the list is at about 18 weeks now for your surgery... but im just hoping to find out roughly how long i could be waiting for my 3rd appointment thats all... as obviously i travel up so need to sort child care... my hubbi is away at the moment but soon as he s back then its not an issue with getting up there xx

i think hospitals unfortunately are a law to their own and you just get a date when they are ready.........not always easy i know as i have to travel up to charring cross which can take up to 3 hours i have to also make arrangements as i cant travel alone due to my health probs and depending on day of week child care to sort, but i do hope your appointment is soon.

i know what its like i had my op postponed it was suppose to be tuesday 20th july and i was told last week at my pre -op appointment they wanted to run more tests, i just have no idea when op will be now. i now have to have these tests and the pre-op again ...................... but it will all be worth it hun and i know your be saying that too x

Hi eyore... thanks for that, o no thats a shame, there s nothing worse when your desperate for something for it to be pulled back a few times... but i suppose the best way to think is that there doing all the checks to be safe frustrating i know... i hope you get sorted soon and your op is near!!!......... im being silly i know think its because im so desperate for it that im frightened there'll forget haha or something gosh 20 years of dieting and fianlly i could be getting my big break xxx

wouldnt get your hopes up to much , mr balapuri told me in april that if i reached my weight loss target it would be 18 weeks from then - however my next appointment to see if i have lost the weight isnt until December and then as Liz has said the waiting lists have gone out so it could be another 26 weeks from then if they dont require you to have anymore tests. can i ask when you had your seminar?

hi well i rang they had me down for the 4 oct but she then said i was booked in the wrong clinic so who knows... can i ask are you all losing the required weightloss asked or just as much as you can.... obviously im making changes but i just wondered xx

They know where im from hun..... were miliatry so we move around everywhere and i first started this journey in cyprus and mr small works with the surgeons there in the hospital on camp... ive had two appointments etc soo im thinking im ok :-/ x

How often are the seminars - and do you attend these after the first appointment? I'm still waiting to get through the book and choose system for my first appointment at Sunderland but just wondered how many appointments on average you attend before the op, and who these would be with?

Hi so im a little bit different as ive come from cyprus and it kinda started from there...... but when i was back in the uk i had my first appointment where bascially they talk about diff surgerys they do and give info on it .... my second appointment was in july 5th i saw the consultant and the dietician together and was given my weightloss target od 4kgs..... im now awaiting my third appointment where if ive met my weightloss target i will be put on the waiting list for surgery........ and then you get your dates for the pre op assesments etc its a long old process hey bot great if you want everything yesterday like me xx haha good luck hun x

we do 3 seminars a month we get 100 referals a month you will get an appointment through the post. your 1st appointment will be a seminar with 1 of our surgeons and a dietician & you will only attend 1 seminar, i also do some of the seminars with them so i may see you there x

it all depends on the patient to how many appointments are needed, you get seen by 1 of the surgeons or 1 of the bariatric nurses, they will ask you to show some form of commitment to them with weight loss between appointments, in general its usually 3-4 apps if the rules are followed.

i had my 2nd appointment in january and then have a wait until the 23rd of august if thats any help on the time scale front. im at sunderland.

HI Kelly just a quick response as I'm also booked in at Sunderland. I had my first appointment in April last year, where they set the weight loss target.....second one in September....when they promised that if I'd met the weight loss target they'd put me on the waiting list....BUT then they decided I needed to see a psychologist and refused to put me on the list (even though I'd met and exceeded the target)....that took me until just before Christmas....it then took them all the way until February to put me on the list...which they told me would be 18 weeks but then lengthened to 26 weeks!
FINALLY I have a date for surgery....10th August....which Mr Schroeder's secretary gave me over the phone when I rang up to see what progress I might be making on the list!

If I could offer any thoughts? Do the most you can to prepare, to show your motivation. It feels like a very long process, but suddenly it's upon you!
