Is it possible to have a re-sleeve

I had a band with no success 8yrs ago. I had a sleeve 4yrs ago & only lost 2 stone....&yes all back on & more. So today i visited my doctor to ask for bariatric surgery...my previous surgeries i funded myself.

But i would like to have the sleeve re done as i dont believe they made it small.enough. (just a thought).

If not then i guess the next stage is a bypass.

Hi @Donna66

To be honest, I've never heard of anyone having this but that's not to say it isn't an option.

The sleeve was originally the first stage to an eventual bypass, for those with a lot of weight to lose, so that's more than likely to be your option.

I'm a band to sleever too and I know that my sleeve is larger than normal but I did have a lot of damage to my stomach for the surgeon to contend with.

Have you identified why it is you only lost two stone, not having a go, just trying to understand the possible issue?

Good luck with part three of your weight loss surgery journey x

I think the band gives the stomach a kink n from what i understand n have read...a sleeve is not as sucessful after a band. As me n my friend both had bands n we lost only a little where as 2 other people i know who never had a band lost like 7+ stones with the sleeve.

Not heard of re doing a sleeve so can’t help. Would be interested in finding out if they do this though.

If you Google it, you will find there is such a thing as a resleeve. Not sure how effective it would be though, you would need to talk to a specialist about your options x
