Excellent idea if it actually gets implemented.
I remember when I developed gastritis (inflammation) a few weeks post op, on contacting my bariatric team I was initially informed "Go to your GP or A&E, we don't deal with emergencies" ...... although they did relent and agree to see me a few days later (at the time I did not know whether it was gastritis, or a leak or what it was).
Having read so many times on here when people develop complications post op, they come on here and ask "What is it?" if there were some dedicated Bariatric A&E teams it would help enormously.
Especially it often seems that the average GP has little knowledge of the indepth complexities of bariatric surgery and complications that can arise ..... and an ordinary A&E department might be *slightly* better, but as soon as they have diagnosed that the problem is bariatric they will shunt you off to a Bariatric Hospital anyway ...... resulting in loss of time.
