Medical indemnity insurance

Can anyone help me on how to find out if your surgeon has this.

I'm going private and its playing on my mind a little. I called up the company who I'm going with and asked if I could see a copy or some sort of proof and they said its not something they hand out.

Ive check my surgeons GMC number and that has come ok but doesn't mention anything about MDI

Thanks for any help xx

I am certain that all UK surgeons will have medical indemnity insurance but if you can't find published details, I would just ask. Obviously this insurance will only cover you in incidences or malpractice. Have you considered an inclusive package if your worried about additional post op issues. It's more expensive but peace of mind. My Spire inclusive package covers me for anything that arises as a direct result of my surgery........blockages, wound hernia or gallstones for example. It's peace of mind even though its heavier on the purse. Good luck.

Ask to see it if they want the business I am sure that they will show it to you

I wont be going up there now till after my op as its a bit of a way for me.

My surgeon is Dr Super and I see his name on here quite a bit so its reassuring x
