what multivitamins do you use ??

Initially post op I was using Tesco's kids chewable multi vitamins & minerals & taking a double dose... now I take centrium, which reminds me I've not done yet this morning x

I get mine from Aldi (posh), I use the childrens chewable ones and take a double dose.

i take forceval which were recommended by my team, i get them on prescription, also calcium tabs with vit d in them. also recommended by the team.

Forceval are what my provider prescribe
-just one a day,I've heard people say they are huge but I think they're fine

im ok with em poppet too, as long as i take em just after ive eaten with a tiny bit of water, otherwise they make me feel sick.

I had all mine prescribed by the surgeon.

Two calcium disolvable tabs a day. Two iron tablets a day. Forceval mulit-vit one a day. The Forceval is massive and I couldn't take it until 5 week post op. I now take it last thing at night with my pro-biotic drink.

Also you will have the fastab to take daily (the antacid to prevent ulcers) but this disolves on the tongue like the calcium ones.

I take generic ones prescribed by my gp plus 2 calci chews and 2x 200mg ferrrous sulphate plus a B12 inj every 12 weeks xx

Your surgeon should prescribe these initially:
Foceval multivit is the best you can get but huge so the first few weeks you would benifit from using Bassets soft'n'chewy till you can manage the Forceval.
Calcium, iron and antacids will also be prescibed.
You may find that zinc, biotin and silica complex may help with any hair loss issues as well as extra protein intake.

i have the forceval, calci-d, fastabs, vit b12 every 3 months. im not taking extra iron at moment, cos they always make me sick, so im seeing if im ok with the amount that are in the forceval.

I have been getting the ZipVit ones. But they have had offers on. You get a protein bar, a protein shake, a months worth of fish oil capsules, a months supply of multivits, recovery drink, energy drink and a bottle all for £4.99 delivered. Limited to one per household and I've sent 1 to 5 different addresses :)

Not available now though!

Ric our gp won't supply you with multi vitamins when I tried to get some they told me to buy them from the chemist as it was to expensive for them to pescribe. I use a-z gold from a Internet based company called healthspan they are really good and cheap and I did ring the hospital team and they said they are what we need as they have everything in them. They are like the centrium ones but alot cheaper.
