My painfull port!

Well I think its where my port is.... I havent proded around that much still some bruising.

But just wondered if it was standard that you get like a stabbing pain and cant move for a while, even moving my head I can feel it but it does pass.

Its the one inbetween my boobs have managed to get a sports bra thats giving me support hopefully will be able to get a bra on next week.

Does other banders experience this?

hi dee my port is also between my boobs and is still painfull 11 weeks on from my op, it will stettle but it takes a while as its positioned on the breastbone, i also am wearing sports bras as underwired ones rubs on the cutt.
i told them at the hospital its a silly place to put a port on a woman as we sweat there and bra rubbing agitates it, its ok for men as they have more muscle in that area.

Thanks for replying I remember before you saying yours was in the same place. It is a really stupid place to put it.

Was having a fill there anymore painful than were you had it before?

How do they decide where to put it on different people I wonder? Did you have any numbing sensation on your stomach?

i havent had a 1st fill yet that will be happening on dec 3rd, i have 2 mil in my band already which they put in during my op.
i dont have a numbing sensation in my stomach as its numb any way from the tum tuck i had 18 months ago.
with my 1st band it was placed to left just under my rib cage, i had no problems with the port there, but when they rebanded me they said that they put them on the breast bone now as they have had to many complications with ports flipping else where which made peoples fills impossible when that happens, my surgeon only puts them in chest now as the port cannot flip on the bone.

I think the pain is universal. I still get real zingers. if you look in my photo album, the blue gauze shows the port incision location but the actual port is further up.

The stingy sensation is all your muscles and nerves reconnecting, that will go on for sometime but it will settle. I still cannot lie on that side for long yet...

Bummer really as I am a stomach sleeper...or was:cry:

my port is 1 cm above the incision between my boobs

My port is not far from my belly button on the right ,it was the most painful part and still gives me greif sometimes,i feel like im tearing somthing but it does get less painful

I have no pain in my port at all now. At the start it was and eventually subsided. Give it time and i can assure u it gets better xxx
