New update

Hi all

Just thought I would pop by and let everyone know how I'm getting on...

I started my tier 3 back in feb, it should have been 12 weeks with a meeting every other week, but all my sessions were on a Monday and with all the bank holidays in may I have finally finished weight management on 12/06 a whole 10 kgs (5%) lighter...

However today at my final dietician appointment I was told I am being referred back to the consultant, which is normal and he will see me in 3 months... Which should be about September, then if all goes well and funding gets put into place I could be on the table and having surgery by October at the earliest and December at the latest... Which was a huge shock as I thought I would have a lot longer to wait.

Apparently my consultant doesn't have a waiting list, so as soon as funding is in place surgery can be done the month after, after pre op diet.

So to say the least I'm nervous now, I could be having surgery before Christmas!

I've been told to lose another 10 kgs (5%) before I see him in September, so that's now my goal!

Anyway, sorry for the rambling post, just thought I would update you.

Night night

K :) x

Hi K, that's great to hear ! I also finished mine 21 May having lost 22lb so just over 2 stone since I saw Dr Raj. I've been seeing Cara 1 on 1 and she told me I will get my apt in 3 months at latest which is August. If that is the timeline for having the op I am also very excited!! :)

Oh and she said they run the seminars at Dewsbury the first Monday in the month and when you get that apt they do everything they need to do pre op in that month x

Hi Leda. I was referred to dr raj too. I had surgery at Dewsbury last month!! You will be referred to the surgeon soon as Dr Raj doesn't do the surgery. My surgeon was Mr White. What surgery are you having? Hope it all goes well. Xx

My seminar was in July/august but I didn't have my final decision and preop until April. My last dietitian appointments were delayed as I needed some time to decide if surgery was the right route for me etc. This did mean the process was a bit more drawn out. Xx

Hello its great to hear from someone else in our area who has had the op! There are 3 of us on here at the same point and we are waiting for that appointment to go back to see Dr Raj. How long do you reckon it will take to see the surgeon then when we've seen him? Can't be long can it if the dietician is telling us we will get the op this year. Seeing as I've not been to the seminar yet I'm not sure which op I'll be having. How did you find it all afterwards? X

They seem to have changed things a bit now since you started your journey don't they? I read the new rules changed in April this year. Just want it doing now, I was referred to Dr Raj by GP beg of Oct and saw him end of Nov. I didn't get a place on 3 tier until March x

Well rang the MDT team yesterday to find out when my next appointment would be, I was expecting September or October... Nope, 29th July...

So basically I finished tier 3, 5 weeks ago and I'm back to see the consultant 9 weeks early...

Let's see his this goes...

hi leda would you be able to tell me what the new rules are as ive just finished all my counselling session

Hi Gemma, what area are you living in? They do seem to be different in most areas. I see the specialist in a month and should have answers then. Hopefully he will put me on the list. I was referred from GP almost 8 months ago and it seems all so slow lol. Good luck and I'll update what happens next when I've been . X
