Next step: What can I expect?

I've got my 1st one to one appointment with the nurse specialist on 18th July..
I think I've put some of the weight back on that I lost during my weight management course. I've changed jobs and am struggling to eat regularly so my own fault really.
What I wanted to know from you kind people is what I can expect at my appointment? I know that she'll give me a weight loss target which I must meet to progress..What else will happen?
I'm at Rake Lane in North Tyneside. Does anyone know how long I will have to meet the weight loss target she sets?
Thank you!!

Hi,

If no one else comes forward with the information you need maybe give the clinic a call and ask them what to expect x Hope you get your answers soon xx all the best xx

I am now 11 days post op and was done at Bournemouth Hospital. My first appointment was with the Specialist nurse and the Consultant Surgeon. Initially the Nurse asked me lots of questions about general health matters, which op I was looking to have, she explained the different procedures and then I also realised she was kind of checking my mental state too. I was weighed and had my pre op assessment checks too. I met the Surgeon after the Nurse had briefed him and he discussed my hopes and fears and that was it really.

Subsequent appointments were with the dietician, Anaesthetist, and Specialist Nurse again. I had extra blood tests done because I opted for a bypass. Problem was they never changed my records so when I turned up for op they had me down for the wrong one so it was cancelled. On my first 2 week milk diet I lost 10 kilos, on my second stint which was 1 week food and 1 week milk diet I lost another 5 kilos. They do expect you to lose up to about 2 stones before the op, which is to make it easier for you and them. If you are too big to have it done by keyhole they will open you up. Looking at your weight above you should be fine, I was 325 lbs when I had mine, at the start I was 365 lbs. If you want any more info please feel free to ask. Take care and good luck on your journey to the new you. xx
