Hi all
Ive heard on here to avoid anything with more than 5g of fat per 100g food but can anyone tell me if this is the 1st on the list of fat or the saturated fat? if you know what i mean! lol
Its the first one, however saturated fat is not a 'good' fat. I did the Rosemary Conley diet and still look at the labels for things of 5g of fat or lower - a good rule of thumb for low fat choices.
The reason it is recommended for bypassers to look for fat less than 5g/100g is a simple one, our shortened digestive tract can be irritated by fatty foods and cause discomfort (cramping, nausea, diarrhea, painfull wind). Also, as part of a healthy lifestyle fat intake should be limited in general. The first listing is what we all should look at but it is also wise as Gaynor said to pay attention to the sautured fat number and keep it low as well.
