well my day has arrived
go to go into work tomorrow to see my senior nurse, even when they know I have a sick note till middle of November and in past experience they have forced me back before my note has expired. My boss tells me they can override drs note and my dr says they can't.
I was advised from dietican not to go back to work for 4 weeks (which that is now), I am starting stage 1 and don't want to be worrying about any side effects while at work (none of my colleages know about my surgery).
Hope they don't force me back!:sigh:

I think you will find your Dr is right they can't force you back to work (and don't let them).
They also can't sack you while you are covered by a sick note

HSE regulations say that if you have a Dr's note because you are unfit for work there is diddly squat that your emplolyer can do about it.

Good Luck for tomorrow...... as your GP is a generalist and OH are specialist they can override a GP certificate.... but I am sure they will be supportive of you. I don't know which company provides your OH, I just know that I don't lol. I think the recovery times are soooo variable post op so there are no real clear cut guidelines (which there is for a lot of other ops). I really hope everything goes well for u....
