I think it depends on the surgeon/hospital and of course your recovery. Where I'm going on the 15th I have been told I can leave the following day if all goes well. I'm going to stay with family and they said if I was going back home on my own with the children it would be the day after. I was told they like to get you out as soon as possible as to keep you active and prevent blood clots, they found the longer patients stayed in hospital the higher the blood clot chances were.
Can you ring your bariatric support nurse, they'll be able to tell you

oh and I'm having a bypass too, so not bad for potentially a day after the op!
