Pain from port for gastric band

Hi, Im new to site but actually had my band fitted in Belgium 9 years ago. I've never had a problem with band until recently. Just before Christmas I had the lining of my womb removed (Endometrial Ablation therapy). Whilst that particular surgery went as it should, I've suffered pain and swelling around the port for my band, which is located on my left side near to ribs ever since. Before this procedure I never had a problem but felt pain almost immediately after coming round from the anaesthetic. Initially I thought it would subside as I had just had the lining of my womb burnt away! But whilst everything else improved this pain got worse. I visited GP 3 times due to pain and swelling and on 3rd occasion was sent back to hospital and keep in for 2 days and put on antibiotics and pain killers. I was advised I would be seen as an out patient but never received an appointment. No proper investigations were carried out and each doctor I seen gave a different explanation as to what they thought could have caused the problem. The one which I think is most likely is that during surgery the muscles around the port may have been damaged when they were moving me about. I went back to GP due to pain who advised there was nothing in my notes to suggest I was going to be seen as an outpatient so he has referred me to a specialist in bariatric surgeon to advise on what can be done to sort the problem out. It is now 2 months since I had the surgery and I'm still in pain I struggle with day to day tasks but I have a family to look after and work full time. I was wondering if anything like this has happened to anyone else and what the outcome was. I'm desperate at the moment as I've been told it could takes months to even get an appointment. Please advise!
