Private Finance...

hi everyone.

I am really fedup of the waiting game now. I thought of going for private. Any one have any idea about finance options? I searched online and found some cheap ones around £3000-£4000 in europe but i can't really trust them. I've been married for about 8 years now and feeling very upset as all the people around me getting pregnant. the thought of not getting pregnant is really making my life hard.

last time i saw Dr Coppack he told me surgery will not be a good option as i want a baby but i read so many articles about getting pregnant after surgery and healthy babies that i am thinking that this was only a way to prospond the surgery as the waiting list is huge. he also told me about an injection to control my diabetes and loose weight but i didn't get any calls back from them yet.

I don't want to put my marriage in danger. 8 years is long time. I don't know what to do. If any of you can give me some info for private finances it will be very helpful.

thanks for reading.

Hi farzu, I wouldn't advise taking out finance with the weight loss providers as the interest rates can be very high, if you go on to moneysupermarket.com and have a look at the loan rates it will give you an idea as to whether you can afford the repayments etc and which banks are the best :) Good luck, you sound like you need it x

Hi Farzu...

I know its tough but you have to think that there are no guarantees to getting pregnant for any woman, fat or thin...

I have a friend who weighs in at 19 stone and she is pregnant and then I have a cousin who is 9 stone and had to go for IVF.

Don't let the pressure get you into debts.....have you been for tests to see if you are both fertile?

That might be worth looking into before committing to a loan.

Hi there
I would also ask you to think about what you are getting for your money if you go for the cheapest option. I paid £6 850 with spire and they have been fantastic. Hardly a week goes by when the surgeon, dietician or bariatric nurse phones or arranges an appointment. I have felt very well looked after. I know some people have felt that they have been abandoned after they have had the band and I am only giving my advice so that you make a good decision. Sometimes the NHS may not be that helpful if you have paid for private care
Hope that helps you a little

I think I remember you saying before Farzu that you are a student (forgive me if Im getting you mixed up with someone else).

If you are a student then getting a loan is going to be difficult. Also as Caz said, losing weight is no guarantee to improved fertility for you. I can understand the temptation of going private if your dream is to have a baby, but would urge you to think carefully about taking on debt if you will struggle to repay it.

Hi Farzu
I really do understand your need for a child i am 40 and cannot have childrenits something i desparately wanted and still woudl iif i could, when i was younger i was told to lose weight and try which i did and it didnt help!!!!!!!!!!
I later became quiet ill and when operated on i was told you would never of had children had you been slim or fat. Now i know this may not happen to you but please before you get yourself into debt look at all your options believe me debt will not help a marriage either.
For 20 years i have watched friends getting pregnant, i had also undergone many tests , and of course today these tests are much better, i would suggest your ask your GP for a referal for Gynecological tests to check if you are fertile, it could be you just need a simple pill, or that the problem could lie with your partner.
There are many reasons women are infertile and the tests are easy to check i would do this before getting in debt with a loan hun x
If you would like to know anything about tests etc please feel free to message me xxx

I agree with the above comments Farzu about getting into debt. I feel for you but perhaps if the family did'nt put you under so much pressure you would be able to think more clearly. Your hubby married you not knowing if children would arrive or not so he must love you dearly. I have known people who like you were desperate for a child and spent years trying. Once they gave up trying it happened naturally.I have a friend who went for adoption as they could'nt conceive. Their mind was then on the adoption and not on making a baby and before the adoption was granted she became pregnant. Now she has the 4year old girl she adopted and a 2 year old girl that they conceived naturally. It is thought that when you have a more relaxed attitude about making love and not just making babies, miracles happen.Good luck in what ever you decide to do xx

Thank you all for your replies. it helped me calm down a bit. I have been to the fertility specialist and have done all the tests for both of us and everything was fine inside. the only problem is my weight as they can't start helping us get pregnant because i'm over weight. I saw the fertilisy specialist for last 2 years and last week they dischared me as they said they can't just give me appointments every 3 months with no weightloss. i felt very angry as i have to get the referal again after i lost weight. they said the only thing that is causing problem with my fertility is the weight. I can afford £3000 but i'm scared to have the surgery done abroad. i'm not a student any more. i just can't think anything straight at the moment.

You poor love... have you tried having an extra time appointment with your GP and having a good old heart to heart.... it's such a huge issue for you and I sympathise... sending a huge hug xxx
