Not heavy into protein shakes but notice that lots of people use them. So o thought I'd offer my tips and ask if anyone else had any.
1. Always use cold liquid, the colder the better.
2. Although the shakers are fine if out and about, a mixer, preferably a stick blender proves the texture and surprisingly the taste.
3. Serve over ice when possible
4. Always consume within 20 mins mixing (looses nutrients after that apparently).
5. Depending on where you are in the process, mixing in a small amount of vanilla ice cream aids the taste and consistency.
