Query Appointment?

Morning all .
Some of you may remember last week I had my choose and book letter referal for weight loss surgery. I had the choice of 3 hospitals to choose from, one was the 'Whittington' which I finaly chose.
When booking the appointment they give you a choice of dates and times.
At the time when I booked there was only one date and time available which was the 11th June at 4pm; I was more than happy because it meant I was on the first step of the ladder!
This morning I had another letter from the 'Whitington' saying I had a group educational session to go to on the same date and time as the first date I chose with from choose and book? but the first appt is at clinic 4A and the letter I recieved this morning is Venue N19 Meeting room.
I am confused now..? are these 2 seperate appts or are they one of the same?
Does this mean I will see a consultant at this group appt? or is that to be a completly different appointment? I did try to call the whittington and explain to someone but they did not understand me! so I have been trying to contact Kirsten who has been recomended has a really nice Specialist Nurse to talk too, but I have had no luck yet in talking with her .

Sounds like an admin error, keep trying to get through.

I had this once, I had to go for a fill under xray at one hospital and see my surgeon at another on the same day, same time, he only works from the one hospital on that day. How could he be in two places at once?

Errors happen, so keep on calling, you will get this sorted

what time are your appointments ?? surgeon appointments are only on Monday's from 9 am till 11am so if its the 11th thats a Thurs ..

so its not with the surgeon ..

what you have is an appointment with Kirsten the bariatric nurse and the dietitian .. its a 3 hr appointment .. in the meeting room at 4pm

everyone has to have this .. they use to do it 1 on 1 but think about it if they did 1 on 1 for 3 hrs with everyone that went there it would take for ever so they do a group session for 3 hrs ..

they sit u in a room and tell you all about the ops they offer .. they give you a questionnaire that at the start of the session they ask you what surgery you want and why .. and what do you wish to get out of today .. and then at the end they ask you once again to put down what surgery you now want to see if it has changed .. from what you first thought you wanted ..

this is all to help you and make you understand what your doing and what you want .. i had mine in Jan and then i seen surgeon Feb and then he sent me for all my tests .. and seen him again in April and got my date for surgery ..

I would Keep trying to get through to clarify exactly whats going on.

I got an out patients appointment this morning for 8th May.
When I phoned to see what the appt was for, I was told it was for my annual check after having ''my bypass''.......

I havent even got a date for surgery yet, let alone had it done! lol...x

Hi everyone,
Still no luck in talking to anyone regarding appts but will try again tomorrow.
I really appreciate all the replyes off each and everyone of you here in trying to calm me and maybe tell me why this has happened.
Brett, I think I recall you telling me about this session before and it makes sense. I will be going to appt its just where I have to be I want to sort out now
I will keep you all updated when I get this sorted.
