Sideways avatar!!

Does anyone know why my avatars always show up sideways??
It's just on this site so was thinking settings or something?

What I've done to cure the problem (long way round no doubt but only way I could sort it)
Open the picture in paint
Save to desktop
Upload from there

Don't know what happened, they used to show up the right way :/
