Not the words I ever thought I would say,fed up eating to try get my bmi to 45.
Its 50 in this area or 45 with co-morbs.Lost weight last year to proove i can dedicate myself to eating properly.Put a bit back on then doc says bmi got to be back to 45.Feel like a human yoyo.Got till 25th sept.to gain about 9lbs.Really feeling tired, bloated etc.Cant wait till he says ok your in,will go back to a healthy diet asap.

put some stones in yer pockets ;), better than putting the weight on lol

Just make sure you take em everywhere with you :D

Yes!I was going to sew some lead fishing weights in me bra and knickers.lol Cant believe the times i have dreaded geting on the scales in case i have put on,now its the other way round.Could wear incontinence pants and fill em!

:rotflmao: ergh :rotflmao:

It's so not fair...I mentioned this to my surgeons registrar and even she said it's just defeating the obvious and making matters worse.

Wear ankle weights...lol...(only joking)

(((hugs)))

Why do you have to put on weight? Is it so you can be referred for wls?

You can't win can you. Weight on,weight off, weight on to get weight off. Just makes no sense having to make yourself gain weight so you'll get help to lose it. I feel sorry for you fighting the losing battle to get help via wls. Good luckx

Marky someone at my GP surgery did this, I only know her throug someone else but she put those tiny weights from the old fashioned scales in a little cotton pouch and hung it from the inside of her trousers  She had the same problem as BnB, this was a few years ago before the NICE stuff were amended

The things you got to do huh ?

The rules for all of this are so insane. I hope you can get those 9 lbs on soon. I would gladly give you mine if I could.

The day I went for my 1st appointment I thought to myself if I had some weights I would have put them in my pocket! It would have put my BMI at over 50 and I would have probably have been referred straight to the surgeons. My BMI was 49.9.

I would seriously think about it. Good Luck x

Thanks gang!I am sick of butter, cream, crisps, cake, biscuits, sweets, chips etc Im not being funny,I havent eaten like this for over a year and its yuck!18st 8lb this am 6lb to go.

Yes Rebirth my bmi has to get back to 45 with co morbidities, then I can have the bypass.Or I could of lost more weight then gained yet again for the op.Either way the doc said I would get it just the crazy way they go about it.FFS Im fat, have yo yo dieted for 30 years and not kept it off, health now deteriorating.Enough already...Hope this time next year I will look back on all this as positively as others on here. Thanks for all your kind words.humour and help.xxx

Dear lordy what a predicament! I am around 44-45 BMI wise and took a list I had hand written to my GP this week - all the things my weight causes - I sat and read it all out to her explained that even if I lose the max target at the NHS Weight Management Group (don't ask its hideous) I will still be over 40.
She was happy to refer me - could have knocked me over with a feather!! I even managed to give her the names of local surgeons as she had never referred anyone before. I am being really positive and know this will all pan out perfectly.
Shove some weights in your pockets next weigh in and have a nice big bloaty meal before it! Good luck xx

I think that is terrible that you need to put on the weight you have worked so hard to loose. Can they not see that you have put so much effort in to loose this weight? It seems ridiculous that you need to put it on in order to get an op to loose it. Good luck I hope you get your op you deserve it after all this effort.

Well, they talk about the law being an ass, what about the NHS??? You would think that with comorbidities and deteriorating health they would want to treat you before you put on more weight! I have to admit there are times when cheating is permissable (isn't it)? Drinking a large glass of H2O and eating a meal prior to seeing your doctor will also help. After saying that, I didn't get my referral through my GP, they referred me to the weight management clinic in Salford. It was the endocrinologist who referred me for wls and funding once she took my dieting and health history. Perhaps that may be the way to go?
