I was refered to Walton hospital 12 months ago,saw a weightloss doc, give all details of failed dieting, medications, comorbidities etc.saw dietician and physios.Been back every few months, proved I could lose weight by losing 3st and promptly putting it back on!Doc has said I can have the bypass 1.if I lose weight again and it comes back on.2 if my bmi hits 45.Thing is no one has said funding is in place,as far as I know my GP hasnt applied can it come from the weightloss doc?He works under Prof.Wilding the surgeon.I dont go back till september 25th.

Dont know if its same here, ive met specialist nurse and surgeon wh`s put me on his list, but not once has anyone mentioned funding, i just thought i hit all the tick boxs

I can't really answer that question as different area's work differently regarding funding. My GP applied for funding first and then refered me to the surgical weight loss consultant but some here have seen the consultant first and then the consultant has applied for funding. Some one from your area will be along soon and hopefully they will be able to tell you more. It seems so stupid to tell you to lose weight and then gain it back for your BMI to get to 45.Some docs eh!! Good luck on your weight loss journey.
